Hot Matcha Sift 2 scoops (about 3g) of matcha into your bowl. Add ¼–⅓ cup (60–80 ml) of 167°F / 75°C water and whisk in a zig-zag motion until smooth and frothy. Pour the matcha into your cup. To sweeten, stir in 1–2 teaspoons of your favourite honey or maple syrup. Enjoy as is, or add ½–⅔ cup (120–150 ml) of steamed or frothed milk of your choice for a cappuccino-style matcha latte. Iced Matcha Sift 2 scoops (about 3g) of matcha into your bowl. Add ¼–⅓ cup (60–80 ml) of 167°F / 75°C water and whisk in a zig-zag motion until smooth. Fill a glass with ice. Add 1–2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup if desired, then add ½–¾ cup (120–180 ml) of cold milk of your choice. Pour the matcha over top.
I haven’t tried out the matcha yet but the aroma is amazing but what I didn’t like is why is it that we pay a lot for the matcha but get so so little it barely reaches the middle.
Hi there! Thanks so much for sharing. We understand that 30 g can look like a small amount when you first open the tin. It makes about 15 servings at 2 g each, or about 10 servings at our recommended 3 g. With the current state of the matcha market, sourcing high-quality, certified organic Japanese matcha is extremely costly. We do our best to keep Hinode accessible, and on a per-gram basis, it’s priced very competitively for its quality, even compared with many non-organic options. I hope you love the taste as much as you love the aroma once you try it!
